FOLK CLUB NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
We will be returning to Camp Herms in the El Cerrito hills for our 2024 “July 4” and Labor Day weekend gatherings. Details about our summer gatherings at Camp Herms are here.
Camp Herms will not be available to us for Memorial Day weekend this year, but we are planning a gathering that weekend at Cedar Rose Park in Berkeley, 1300 Rose Street, from noon to 8:30 pm Saturday May 25 and Sunday May 26. (Please note the change of location!) We will be at picnic area #1. The park has a large grassy area and there should be room to spread out to play music, although we cannot schedule workshops. You are welcome to bring pot luck food to share, and bring a chair for yourself if you want to be sure of a place to sit. We’ll have a donation can on the table. Dress appropriately for the weather that day! In case of rain, we can have a jam at Hali Hammer’s home, 1609 Woolsey Street in Berkeley, about 1 1/2 miles from the park. SFFMC’s 2024 San Francisco Free Folk Festival will be on Saturday July 13. We will be returning to our 2023 location in Golden Gate Park on Saturday, July 8, 2023. For more information, check out the festival website. Our festivals in Golden Gate Park are was co-sponsored by Illuminate and the San Francisco City Recreation and Parks Department.

Spring Harmony Online was another successful online SFFMC event with workshops, concerts, jams, singarounds, and more. More than 200 people registered! More info is here. We plan to be back in Spring 2025!
This was our first in-person New Year’s Camp in four years! We returned to our former site at Camp Newman, between Calistoga and Santa Rosa, which has been rebuilt since the fire there in 2017. We hope to return to Camp Newman for Camp Harmony 2024-25. More info about the 2023-24 camp is here.
SFFMC’s 2023 El Cerrito Free Folk Festival was live and in person on Saturday, October 14 at the El Cerrito Community Center on Moeser Lane in El Cerrito. Details are on the festival website. The festival was a lot of fun! We hope to see everyone at next year’s festival.
