Woody Guthrie's American SongJuly 14-22
Freight & Salvage in Berkeley will host the 100th birthday celebration of the life of the rambling folk singer through his words and music. On Sat., July 14, Woody Guthrie's actual birthday—the Freight will hold an open house from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Workshops, panel discussions, art projects and exhibits, and free performances by students and professional musicians. Includes the first public exhibit of letters Woody Guthrie wrote in the summer of 1955 when he was bed-ridden with Huntington's disease. Info: www.thefreight.org
