Musical Meetings

Musical Meetings, in person and online

Online musical meetings: We continue to host regular online sings on Zoom on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 1 to 3:30 pm, and on the 1st and 3rd Fridays from 7 pm until midnight.  To get announcements of the URLs for these Zoom meetings, subscribe to SFFMC’s Harmony list at https://groups.io/g/harmony.  More information about our online musical meetings is here.

In-person musical meetings (updated 10/26/2025):  SFFMC has had to leave our prior musical meeting location at St. Cyprian’s church. We’re now very happy to report that Glen Van Lehn and Tes Welborn, who were mainstays at our Cyprian’s events, have very generously offered their flat at 2001 Oak Street in San Francisco (near the Golden Gate Park Panhandle) for monthly musical meetings for the next 12 months.

The meetings at Glen and Tes’s will start out on the third Sunday afternoons of each month. The first two will be on Sunday November 16 and Sunday December 21 from 1 pm to 5 pm. Food will be potluck – please bring food or beverage to share, if you can! Please be aware that there are 15 steps to get to their front door.

There will be two rooms available for singing and jamming. All levels of musical skill are welcome. Each person takes a turn leading a song, and it is also fine to pass or request a song. Glen and Tes are hoping to have volunteers to greet at the front door from about 1-2 pm, and to help those dropping off instruments before parking. If you’re interested in helping with this, please email Tes at tesw@aol.com. As their front door is next to the singing room, you will be able to participate while greeting. Donations will be welcome for the club.

Please contact Tes re door greeting or questions, in advance by email at tesw@aol.com, or on the event day at 415-377-3698.

If you have trouble finding street parking, paid parking is often available at the Kezar Lot at 825 Stanyan, about five blocks from the house. For public transit, the N line of the muni metro and #7 bus, and other MUNI buses, have stops fairly nearby.

In consideration of our members’ allergies and other concerns, only service animals are permitted at SFFMC events, and all our events are fragrance-free. The wearing of perfumes or heavily-scented products is not permitted. If a situation arises that cannot be easily remedied, attendees may be asked to show responsibility by taking their pet home or going home to change out of clothing that has picked up the offending scents.
